Clinical Instructor (Radiologic Sciences/Sonography) — Carbondale

The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for a Clinical Instructor position within ASAs School of Allied Healths baccalaureate program in Radiologic Sciences/Sonography beginning August 16, 2013, or until an acceptable applicant is found. This is a term faculty position which does not lead to tenure. Required Qualifications: Registered radiographer with the RDMS (AB, OB/GYN) credentials. This individual must have at least two years of work experience in radiography and/or the other required modality. The Clinical Instructor position requires a minimum of a Masters degree in a health related discipline or an education-related discipline. Must be able to lift positioning phantoms and drive to distant clinical education sites. Preferred Qualifications: RVT certification; supervisory experience with Radiography, and/or Sonography students. Responsibilities: To provide direct classroom/laboratory/clinical instruction as assigned; provide indirect teaching, such as: coordination of clinical education, student advisement, recruitment, and retention for the Radiologic Sciences program; to assist in continuing program accreditation and program assessment; to participate in professional practices, seminars or workshops necessary to maintain up-to-date skills in radiography and sonography; to participate in committee involvement at the Program, School, College and University levels; and to engage in other assignments as determined by the Director of the School of Allied Health.
