position is responsible for the development, collection, management,
monitoring and communication of information relating to S&T; intellectual
property and is a key interface with the IP Department for such information.
For S&T; projects, this position is responsible for developing or coordinating
the development of IP plans, IP landscapes and trend analyses; organizing the
Patent Review Committee (in conjunction with IP Counsel), and working with the
IP Department to implement the S&T; IP Strategy. The Intellectual Asset
Manager will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Intellectual
Asset Analyst â  S&T.; Day to Day Responsibilities: - Schedule and, in
conjunction with IP Counsel, conduct the Patent Review Committee meetings to
consider and act on IDs, and coordinate follow up actions for specific IDs
(e.g. MIN response) to optimize timely and appropriate action on all submitted
IDs - Proactively develop appropriate IP landscape/trends analysis, provide
communication and coordination link between the project teams and IP
Department - Coordinate the development of, or develop, early-stage S&T; IP
plans - Provide basic IP perspective/information and assist the IP Strategy
team (IP, technical, and commercial leaders) in developing, executing, and
updating the S&T; IP Strategy - Support, coordinate, and track implementation
of the S&T; IP Strategy and coordinate S&T; follow-up to ensure achievement of
the strategy objectives and goals - Act as a liaison between S&T; project
teams and the IP Department to manage and optimize the generation, review, and
submission of appropriate and timely IDs - Support and coordinate competitive
intelligence searches of competitor patents and activities, provide monitoring
and analysis consistent with the IP Strategy Plan and applicable policies and
procedures, leverage SMEâ Âs designated to cover aspects of competitive
intelligence, and alert IP Department when potential issues arise; and manage
database(s) with respect to competitors, patents and art references. -
Facilitate quarterly review of the patent portfolio in conjunction with IP
Counsel for value/action assessment and enforcement/licensing issues and
communication thereof to S&T; Management - Assure optimal working
communication between the commercial, technical, and legal communities about
issues affecting IP, in an effort, for example, to keep attorneys informed of
new business objectives and activities, and with IP Counsel to keep senior
management apprised of significant IP risks - Assist IP Counsel in collecting
data and other input to develop IP budget requirements for the business, and
track and monitor budget on ongoing basis - Work closely with IP Counsel and
S&T; management to ensure inclusion of appropriate IP message on all Growth &
